Old text books?

Post by Sprite » Wed Nov 22, 2017 6:12 pm

I'm sure this has been asked before, but I can't seem to access old posts.

We've been having a rummage in the loft. Does anyone know if there is any value in old Optics text books or should I just rip them up and recycle them?

I have got Fincham & Freeman Optics 8th edition
Reed and Drance Perimetry
Vision and the Eye Pirenne 1971
Drugs O'Connor Davies 1972
Promoting Optical Practice - John Dinning 1987
Law and Management in Optometric Practice SP Taylor and DP Austen 1986
A few old ophthalmology books with no pictures!

I can't believe these are of any use nowadays?

Also in the loft (as yet unearthed)
Wolff Anatomy 1970s
Burian and van Noorden Binocular Vision late 1970s, cost a fortune at the time! (More than I earned for a week as a pre-reg)

Thanks

Please dont rip them up. I would be interested in your Wolff anatomy and your von Noorden when you get them out of the loft

Oooh, OK then, I'll have to ask Mr Sprite where they are!

Ha! Mr Sprite knew they weren't in the loft, but in the bookshelf in the spare room.

So there we have 2 books (covered in clear sticky-back plastic but minus any dust-jackets) Wolff's Anatomy 6th edition 1973, the front cover is a bit loose and the plastic is a bit split but the pages are all in good condition. Burian and von Noorden BV and OM 1974, very good condition.

They weigh a ton!! (thinking of postage costs....)

So are you still interested, yzf-r1? Anyone else?

And I'm still interested to know if anyone knows of a good home for the other old books, or are they past it?
