A unique opportunity is available for optometrists to utilise their clinical skills without the need to provide sight testing.
Community Health & Eye Care (CHEC) have provided community based eye conditions services for over 6 years utilising optometrists and consultant ophthalmologists in optometry practices and GP surgeries, and now wish to employ optometrists to provide these services exclusively.
The successful applicant would undertake little or no sight testing but would be seeing patients who have been referred in for secondary care assessment with conditions such as red eye, flashes/floaters, raised IOP's, dry eyes etc, and would have the full support of ophthalmology colleagues.
You would be responsible for taking fundus photographs and undertaking IOP measurements, as part of a virtual glaucoma monitoring scheme, where an ophthalmologist provides the clinical decision on stability of the patients condition.
This post would suit part-time or locum optometrists. Salary in the region of £ 45,000 - £ 55,000 per annum pro rata dependant on experience.
Applications should be submitted via e-mail with a CV attached to email@example.com. Closing date 30th September 2017
