Quote Edit and X

Post by eagle »

Is it possible to put these commands further to the left as increasingly often it is not possible to access the 'x' and sometimes not even the 'edit' due to the page width having expanded.

Alternatively, limit the page width?

In my firefox browser, these buttons adjust to fit the browser window.

Only when the actual post contains a link that is too long, does it become too wide.

I have found that these buttons sometimes aren't visible because the page hasn't loaded correctly. But if you hover the mouse over where they should be, you get a little info box, and you can click on that.

In IE, they still show. :?

If it never appeared due to not loading, they usually have a placeholder, e.g. red X box.

Still no show. On this thread I can only access the quote functions as the others are outside the screen. I cannot find any way in IE to alter the width/size of the content apart from zoom which has no affect apart from making whatever is displayed smaller or larger.

Again this happens at home and work and seems to be a fairly recent problem. It did occur on the odd post before but now is a common event.

Have you installed something recently?

Would you consider using firefox? (or another browser)

I use the forum on several computers, no probs on my end.

Mine is Avant and has occasionally shown the same 'stretching'

Does this affect the whole page if an extra long link has already been posted?
If such a link is 'broken' with a return-to-the-next-line can the whole link still be operable directly
or would a cut/paste+stitchup be needed via the usual seach box?

If a long link is placed in a post (i.e. here) it will affect the whole thread/page.

Links can easily be shortened using the URL box (top right) on the message entry/writing page, e.g.

www.theoptom.com/can_be_shortened_to

click

It explains how to do it on the message entry/writing page.
