We now have two threads devoted to 'non-optical news' and other stuff. Perhaps these could be merged into one?

And could the "Off topic" section come lower down, so that we start with "In Practice" and General Optometry? It seems a bit back to front now, like having the TV guide and crosswords on the front page of a newspaper.

Apart from anything else, there's not usually any new posts in Latest News (despite my newspaper analogy), so it's a bit of a negative to see that section at the top, whereas there's always something going on in General Optometry.

And as Hornhaut says, Latest News is a bit of an ambiguous title now it's in the off-topic section....is it for optical stuff or not?
