Re: Logging on

It could be you are logged in at the same time on more than one device. If not, then I'm not sure. You might need to try a process of elimination to find out what the cause is then let us know.

Re: Logging on

I recall this issue may have come up before and needed a cookie/cache delete/refresh. In Chrome it's fairly easy to delete one cookie only. Settings ---> advanced ---> site settings ---> cookies ---> see all cookies and site data ---> (type "theoptom") then select and delete cookie

Re: Logging on

Not sure. Do you mean you click on the email link in a new browser session? Also, is this a new problem since the change in server?

There could be an admin setting I could change on my end but not sure what. If anyone does let me know.

Re: Recent outage July 2019 - server hardware failure

It is annoying and I agree would obviously make one less inclined to use the site etc but as I said I think it was mainly a run of bad luck, e.g. first outage was an attack from a China IP which once found and blocked restored function, 2nd one was an updated server security module which incorrectly...

Re: Recent outage July 2019 - server hardware failure

I think it's just been bad luck. I will see how this new setup goes.

The backup file is about 500MB.

Recent outage July 2019 - server hardware failure

The backup seems to be about a week old. The host has deployed a new server with a new setup (I assume that's a good thing). Let me know if you notice any issues.

Anyone who signed up in the last week will have to re-register.

Apologies for the inconvenience.

Re: Recent outage - we were under attack

The site went down approx 24 hours ago. Host investigated and found a server security module was triggered (probably due to some attempted hack) hence the security programme stopped traffic to the site. Backup from 18th June restored. If anything happens again in future please check our facebook pag...

Recent outage - we were under attack

From an IP address in China apparently.

Probably an attempt to steal our secret to predicting election results, or maybe they just confused us with a nuclear reactor.

Re: Cookies?

I'm unaware of such an issue. Try clearing your cache/cookies again to see what happens. Failing that, try another browser and let us know the result.

Re: Wanted child's trial frame

Sorry for delay in reply. I checked this and if you are referring to the metal lens clips on the front they may just need widened with a little manual pressure. It worked for me.

The Optomshop one, the back cells take the 38mm lens, but the front cells are smaller?
Can you clarify which frame are you referring to? I'm not aware of such an issue but I can check.

What criteria do you use to keep a topic alive & at the head of the list?
A combination of usefulness, importance, laziness etc.

I have demoted the banking thread to a normal thread. Apparently they are implementing the separation of retail and investment banking.
