I have reported a few times that quite a list of less common characters eg the pound sign, +with-, degree sign, now return a blank Preview - and can be annoying.

It came with the last move to the current forum host.

new post blocker discovered ..

As is known I use + and - together a lot, combined.

It is
Alt(NumLock)753
and is very handy
- until today.

In the Shiner thread I thought it was previewing with NO text due to inadvertent bad words.

It took a bit to trace this to .. (apparently any) Alt command.

Looks like they don't like the Chat Room - as no one ever goes in there (or has done in years). [ :?: ]

Virgin also. Lowest (but now expensive) tariff - but, just tested, Uswitch: shy of 90mb down / 6up. Way OTT for what is used. But that is a dedicated channel, not 'real net life'. IF I could find a safe way to revise/clear my whole W7 system without putting it all over Niagara and losing down the Wh...

michel, how old is your current system?
Is theO the only 'slow loader'?

For my third time (XP, W7 32, now W7 64, all from new setups) have ground to a crawl after three years in spite of daily cache clearing and lots of such actions.

'Some' of us miserable sinners have, for some years now, had all our posts inaccessible bar the current week's offerings. If I ever vaguely recall something posted long ago I can only fish for it with faulty memories or clues, mostly unsuccessful. It is all there however whenever I do succeed. Just ...

Both my 10 and 7 refused to automatically go with the winter change. 10 only accepts indirect change - which it refused. 7 (on now) I had to manually correct and ..now have just changed theO {ta for the tip.  ] ..and return to find ... it is showing an hour ahead!, with GMT on profile a...

Yes. It is not like an email which is transmitted to another site; it remains just .. there, on the theO website, but needs the recipient to open it to switch its status. A separate email message may be sent to a stated edress if any wish to be notified, and select this. If not, and the 'top line' i...

I think any of us can mark a post Sticky - I have done in the past, I think! ..

Try creating one then retro-marking it Sticky.

It is just a sub listed tab, separate from all the others, and labelled.

Have a go.
If it fails the Boss will sort it for you.
