I agree, however, we don't know how many we have lost through the crashes. @theoptom Can you send an email blast out to folks to acknowledge the issues of before and promote the new and improved? If it helps, tell them MTP said it is worth it.

The old host's company policy was to be carbon-neutral so it was not related to the server (unless they used renewable energy to power it but even then I think its unrelated). The main issue seems to have been their setup/capacity which deteriorated over time.

As I mentioned previously it's not a big deal as I can use this to offset.

Went in to spam and it did come across as very spammy/advertorial. Doubt it would do much to get people back, I'm afraid. IMHO, of course.

Mine also went into spam. Personally I think the content was unlikely to stimulate anything other than a cursory glance and it's a shame it wasn't used more effectively to encourage forum participation, entice members back and even grow membership.

Maybe it's just me but I can't help but feel that interest in this forum has declined quite a bit during the past year or so and there now seems to be fewer regular contributors keeping it alive.

Hi mtp, barryd, feel free to post (or pm me) a better worded message that you feel is more persuasive. It can always be used in the next mailshot.

Thanks for the opportunity and I will attempt to do this, although it will probably have to wait until next month because we're busy with preparations for the exhibition next weekend.

Strange occurrence yesterday evening... every time I clicked on a link into this site it sent me a file into my downloads folder which contained a single zero byte .php file. I could not gain access at all. FIne this morning though.
