Product review section ?
Product review section ?
Would there be any interest in having a dedicated product review section for our feedback on equipment/lenses/cl/frames etc ?

Same way as all the other threadsHornhaut wrote:Yes, it's a good idea, but how would we keep the thread in focus and not allow people's ramblings about this or that rep to get into the way?
J.
That will never happen but if they are in their own section with a new thread for each product at least there might be some easy to find info ?!

I'm not sure why reps would necessarily come into it, but on a forum such as this people do ramble sometimes. I guess you have to take the rough with the smooth. And we do.Hornhaut wrote:Yes, it's a good idea, but how would we keep the thread in focus and not allow people's ramblings about this or that rep to get into the way?

People are dying/suffering needlessly when there are effective, simple, safe and cheap treatments: see here
What are you going to do about it?
What are you going to do about it?
A sub section is a good idea rather than a thread in with all else.
When, in a year or two an item is vaguely recalled, it can be difficult to remember where or what keys to search on.
Some of us Cloud Clutterers find our searches are pseudo-Alzheimered - ie limited to the last page of junk posted so searching dies... er, ..is killed off.

Independence is a state of mind. All else follows.

I would love to see a method to compare varifocal quality and not just rely on the sales patter or your fussy mother to validate them.
Without genuine impartial expert input and benchmarking there is a real danger that this just becomes a forum to slag off anything associated with essilor, alcon, luxottica & specsavers.

Alcon - utter crud service but decent products
Lux - some great products but by far the worst customer services
SS - cheap and cheerful - you pays your price, not the devil incarnate but great at differentiating between quality opticians and the rest
