Should the forum get an upgrade

Being a bleeding edge kind of bear, I always like to have the latest updates possible. There's an argument of don't fix what's not broken, though, for the steady eddies out there.
Given the recent coding shenanigans, this forums age perhaps began to show - it runs on phpBB2 - there's now phpBB3 and upgrading should be fairly straightforward and carry forward the legacy of all the work I've put in to my post count (and some others' drivel as well).
Should we upgrade?

It would be nice if it worked on a mobile.

It would certainly be good if uploading pictures was easier.

advantages:
- more modern appearance
- better mobile compatibility
- additional features both front end and back end, for members this should mean a better experience when posting
- better compliance with newer server software standards
disadvantages:
- downtime during upgrade
- additional work for the boss to do
- risk of it all going horribly wrong
- loss of familiarity
neither of these are extensive and I haven't gone in to details about the additional features for the users as some of these may be able to be achieved with the use of mods on the current system (???). There are many mods/enhancements available for each system, and there are risks and benefits of incorporating them.

There's something warming about a stock install of phpBB still serving it's purpose after all these years, while everything else on the web has been fannied about with and endlessly updated and 'improved'.
