Presumed acanthamoeba keratitis
|
This was a patient I saw this week. About 10 years ago he had a severe corneal insult, aet 14yrs. He admits to having abused his contact lens wear at the time, ended up taking three weeks to have a confirmed diagnosis and ended up being treated very aggressively with topical meds being created by the hospital's compounding pharmacy. This leads me to suspect it was an acanthamoeba keratitis.
