Presumed acanthamoeba keratitis245 viewsThis was a patient I saw this week. About 10 years ago he had a severe corneal insult, aet 14yrs. He admits to having abused his contact lens wear at the time, ended up taking three weeks to have a confirmed diagnosis and ended up being treated very aggressively with topical meds being created by the hospital's compounding pharmacy. This leads me to suspect it was an acanthamoeba keratitis.

Lid problem?322 views40 yr old female px concerned about recent onset of lid lump.
Dx as chalazia by nurse @ GP surgery. Slit lamp reveal hard lumpy mass - most probably chalazia but not the typical presentation.
What do you think it might be? Px is a concerned asymptomatic- management? To refer or not to refer.
Px wants ideally referral.
